for Ballet & Dance Classes

The Dance Element dance school in Wilmington NC requires all male & female dance students to dress in appropriate dance attire for every class.
The Dress Code creates equality and discipline in the dance classroom, and eliminates distractions, helping our students focus and take their lessons seriously.
Form fitting dance wear is essential to our dance instructors when correcting body alignment in Ballet classes, or spotting and assisting our Acrobatics students with Tumbling technique.
Our Dress Code teaches children
the importance of being responsible.
When students arrive prepared, they are able to get the most out of every dance class.
or fitness attire they are comfortable moving in.
- Ballet Technique Shoes and Tap Shoes are necessary for the Adult Ballet & Tap Classes.
- Sneakers are recommended for Adult Hip Hop, Line Dancing, & Zumba Fitness classes.
(Any style of dance shoe is fine!)

Our studio offers a great selection of new and gently worn dance wear to our students!
Every item in our Lobby Shop is priced from $1- $20, and available for dance students to purchase at any time, throughout the season.
The Dance Element has a nice selection of gently worn Dance Shoes, and we are pleased to offer a Shoe Exchange program for our dance students.
The shoe exchange is a great savings opportunity for parents of dancers with growing feet!
If we have a pair of appropriate dacne shoes in your child’s size, we will issue the shoes to you in exchange for:
A $10 Deposit or
an outgrown pair of shoes.
These shoes can then be traded in for larger ones as needed!
Of course, we can’t guarantee always having the right size.
